Write in the forum

How to start a new thread and reply: what the form asks, why your first message waits for approval and which notices you may see.

To write you need a Duxels account and JavaScript. Reading needs neither.

Open a category or a thread. Where the form would be you see "Join the forum" with two buttons.
Press Sign in, or Create account if you do not have one yet. It takes you to account.duxels.com and, when you are done, brings you back to the same forum page.

If sign-in could not be loaded, the page says so and you can keep reading. Reload the page to try again.

Start a new thread

Open a category that takes new threads. In "Duxels announcements" only the team starts threads; there you can reply.
Under "Start a new thread", write the Title: 5 to 120 characters.
Write the Message: 2 to 10,000 characters.
Under Language of your message pick Español or English. By default it is the language of the page you are on.
Press Post thread.

Reply

Open the thread.
Under "Reply", write your message and pick its language.
Press Post reply.

If the thread is closed, there is no form: the page says it takes no more replies.

How to write

It is plain text, no HTML.
A blank line separates one paragraph from the next.
https:// links become links.
Before sending, the page may run a quick check to confirm you are a person. Wait for it to finish.

After you send

Your first message waits for approval. You will see "Received. Your message is waiting for the Duxels team to approve it and will appear once they review it". Nobody else sees it until then. After that, your messages are published straight away.
If it is published right away, you see "Published" and the page takes you to your message.
If you have several messages waiting for approval, the forum asks you to wait for the team to review them.
If you write too fast or too many messages in a row, it asks you to wait a little.

The forum does not save drafts: if you close the page before sending, what you wrote is lost. There is also no button to edit or delete a message you already sent; if you need help with one, write to us from contact.duxels.com.

If the forum does not let you write

The page tells you why. These are the most common notices:

"Your Duxels account needs your name or your username to write": see Your name in the forum.
"Your account cannot write in the forum": write to us from contact.duxels.com.
"Your session has expired": reload the page and sign in.
"The forum cannot receive messages right now. Try again in a minute": try again in a moment. Reading keeps working.

Do not write your password, your security codes or your card details in a forum message: anyone can read everything you post.
